evere storms and massive flooding last weekend killed 23 people in Tennessee, state emergency management officials said.

The federal government has declared 42 counties disaster areas. Flooding has caused more than $1.5 billion in property damage in the Nashville area alone, city officials said.

Piles of debris stretched for blocks in the city’s Bellevue neighborhood Sunday.

Soggy furniture, drywall and flooring lined the curbs as residents and volunteers tried to stay positive while cleaning up the damageflooding left behind.

“We have no choice but to solve this problem, and we’re going to solve it with enthusiasm and try to have fun doing it. We have some hurdles to cross, but we’ve already gotten across quite a few,”Nashville resident Russ Hazelton told CNN. “We’ll see what the next few days bring.”

There is a lady who unfortunatley has a disease called acedia. Acedia is the profound indifference and ablity to care about things that matter. This aldy who is struggling with this problem her Name is Kathleen Norris. She is also a writer who has stories about her disease and how she constantly trys to live with it. There is no cure for Acedia although at least it is not physical pain. Although kathleen says pain comes mentally with the thought that she cna not care even if she does want to. It is also hard because even if pain is there she doesnt care,because she can’t care. eary Christ9ians recognize Acedia as one of the 8 deadly sins. Acedia has no remedy although you can learn to resist it if you can do that. Some people who have this disease can be stronger then others and can learn to handle this better than others. Acedia is a huge part of burdening anger and pain. A lot of pepople have this and do not even know if they have it. They usually believe that they are just mean and that is not in the case at all.

Asylum Patients save victims in Huge Tsunami.

Two asylum patients saved 2 lives in the huge tsunami disaster. Many people believe that people who are in the asylum are slow are not capable to be human or have human feelings. They have feelings too and can do things the same. Maybe in a different way or view but they are still human. These two patients saved 2 other people’s life. They were recent visitors of the asylum who talked to the patients a lot. Kindness goes a long way for when the patients were asked why they helped. They simply replied because they were nice people. Students Protesting.

A movement of a 1 billion dollar budget cut results in rallies on campuses nationwide. This issue is very important due to the fact that this is was an raging outbreak. This budget cut will limit classes and make higher education unobtainable to many. Dissatisfaction, anger and an uncertain future have led professors and students to call for a day of action to defend education. In California these schools have been increasing fees, canceling classes, cutting student support programs and fees have increased 182 percent since 2002. Students attending theses schools with budget cuts are all wearing black. To symbolize the ’death’ of our education. As they cancel more classes and shorten them They are proving that less students will be able to attend college.

Miracle On Ice

Today is the 30th anniversary of The 1980 U.S Olympic Team. Miracle On Ice has been counted for being one of the Most Single indelible moment in U.S sports. The Soviets never Lost in the Olympics since 1968. No one really thought that a team of college hockey players would make a lasting impression. Until 1999 when the “Miracle On Ice” was proclaimed as America’s greatest sports achievement of the 20th century. Even a few years later it was immortalized by Hollywood in the movie Miracle. This Hockey game is one that sent an entire nation into a frenzy.” American hockey came of age on February 22, 1980, when the young americans took down the mighty Red Machine from the USSR. The story begins with Herb Brooks, NCAA coach and student of international hockey. Brooks had played for his country at two Olympics, and was the last man cut from the 1960 team, which won America’s first Olympic gold medal in hockey. He also coached players at Minnesota. That game will be remembered for a very long time through out history because it shows Miracles can happen.

Sending California Inmates to Mexico.

California Inmates are being over crowded and so Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger decided to send undocumented Prisoners to Mexico. I don’t think this was a good idea due to the fact that If Mexicos prisoners become overcrowded, Where do they go. Even though Mexico has special built prison cells that are better that California’s, California is not Mexico. If the governor would spend money more wisely california to could have special built prisons. California is becoming overcrowded and so their governor should make more room. Although the Governor is saying it will ease a strain on money if they send the inmates to Mexico. They are paying mexico 20,000 dollars but at the same point over time a lot more prisoners will be there. I just hope there isn’t too many inmates where Mexico could be over run. IN the past month the governor has had to cut out paychecks due to the over draft they went through.

I am here to speak with you about Haiti’s Earthquake and its funders. There are plenty of charity’s that are supporting Haiti’s in their time of need but I will be speaking about One charity specifically. The Wyclef Jean Yele Haiti Charity has been and currently supports Haiti through it’s time of need. They have contributed along with their supporters 2 million dollars. The earthquake that hit Haiti’s capital Port Au Prince on Januray 12, 2010 is known as . The most devastating earthquake ever to hit was measured at a 7.0 and hit around 5 p. m in the evening causing tragic destruction. Wyclef’s organization has contributed to Haiti’s relief by sending food,clothing,and daily needs. Also I advise that you look in your homes and get everything you don’t use and give.

Life as we know it could be coming to an untimely end. For most, shutting down of power would be one of the worst things to happen to our country although I could think of something else. Global warming some don’t believe in acourse I do. Global warming is a big factor going on in our world today. There are a lot of pollutants that are harming our world and it is being very destructive. Our people need to wake up and smell the coffee and realize that the world is needing help and be a real citizen and take responsibility for what is ours. Life will and can be healed if we take participation in our simple duties by recycling and helping our economy. That is it Just help and be useful……….I went hard huh?

Do us as Student opinions Matter?

Lets see. Today I will discuss,in my opinion,very important matters. I do not like the rule that in the following year our school hours will be changed. Having school hours from 9-5 to me is very unnecessary. Some of us have jobs that allow us to come in earlier and now due to that fact we will have to adjust out Job schedules that we have worked very hard at. As you may know attaining a job is very hard and for us to ask changing time which we may not receive is very difficult. It alters our whole job and if we even can keep it when we have to change our hours. We should keep our regular times from 6-2:05, I believe that would be best for us. Some students are cranky but it shows them discipline making them come to school at a Needed time. Changing the rules are Mediating to there Standards and by now they should be in the process of getting up when asked. This is my opinon
